1. The Timeless Villages of Castello, Ortisé, and Menas

Villages frozen in time, clinging to the mountain slopes.
In autumn, they explode with color—like impressionist paintings.
Drive up from Mezzana, heading toward Ortisé, and stroll through stone alleyways or take the trail up to Malga Stabli and Malga Bronzolo.
Every turn hides a golden birch, a glowing larch, or a perfect frame waiting to be captured.

2. The Ancient Larches of Val di Rabbi

Start from Coler parking and follow trail SAT 106 to Malga Stablasolo.
You can then continue to Malga Prà di Saent or take the detour to the Saent waterfalls.
Higher up, the larch forest opens up into a valley that feels suspended.

Above Pejo Paese lies this peaceful lake—small, but full of soul.
Here, autumn paints twice: once in the trees and again on the water.
The hike is easy (only the first stretch climbs a bit), making it a perfect mix of nature, emotion, and stunning shots.

4. Lake Tovel – the Autumn Icon

Yes, it’s famous. Yes, it’s photographed a lot. But there’s a reason.
In fall, Lake Tovel is pure poetry.
The reds, yellows, and greens fall into the crystal water, all framed by the Brenta Dolomites.
Go midweek to experience the stillness.
The path around the lake is flat, panoramic, and worth every step.

5. Lake Malghette at Sunset

A hidden gem surrounded by larches and silence.
Start from Malga di Dimaro (you can drive there), then follow trail 265 for about an hour.
In autumn, the larches burn gold in the light of sunset—making this one of the most photogenic places we know.

6. Lake Caprioli – Reflections and Relaxation

Easily reached from Pellizzano via the Gnome Trail.
Here, fall reflections turn the lake into a painter’s canvas.
Surrounding forests, a cozy mountain hut, and calm atmosphere make this a great choice for families or soft explorers.

7. The Trail to San Romedio

More than just foliage—this one is about atmosphere.
In Val di Non, start from Sanzeno and follow the trail carved into the rock toward the Sanctuary of San Romedio.
Climb the final 131 steps for a view over forests ablaze with color.
