There’s something timeless about spreading a blanket on the grass and sitting on the ground. Perhaps because a picnic has always been more than just a meal outdoors: it’s a ritual. Light, spontaneous, and free.
It’s the invitation to slow down, to choose a place that mirrors your mood, and to listen to the breeze rustling through the leaves while your hands tear bread, fruit, and memories.
For today’s explorer, a picnic is a mindset. It’s the moment when the map becomes your tablecloth, the bottle becomes a toast, and every bite is the reward for the road you’ve taken. It’s balance—between nature and flavour, between silence and celebration, between view and taste.

MONROC PIC-NIC. Explore. Taste. Lay back under the sun.
JUNE 18, 2025 | 3 MINS READ
Il MONROC PIC-NIC BOX.
Taste, wherever you want it.
This is how we celebrate it at MONROC: a backpack filled with good things, trails waiting to be discovered, and the freedom to stop when it feels right.
That’s why we created the MONROC PICNIC BOX: a treasure of housemade specialties, prepared with care by our GUSTO LAB. Freshly baked bread, local cheeses, seasonal vegetables, sweet surprises—and maybe… a bottle to uncork. Everything ready to be packed and enjoyed in the perfect spot.

Four perfect picnic spots.
Don’t worry—we’ll bring the blanket!
You can set off directly from MONROC, by foot or by bike. We’ll give you the trail, the map, and the picnic box. The best part is all yours: to enjoy.
Spoiler: you can do it in autumn too. In fact, it might just be the best moment.
Here are our favourite places to lay the blanket and let the view do the rest:
1. COVEL LAKE – Val di Pejo
A small emerald lake that stays with you.
Leave your car near the Austro-Hungarian war cemetery above Pejo Paese and follow the signs to Lago di Covel. The first part climbs a bit, then the trail softens through alpine meadows and charming “masi”. In just over an hour, you’re at the lake. And the snack? Pure magic.
2. ORTISÉ AND MENAS – Val di Sole
Villages frozen in time.
Drive to Ortisé, park at the entrance, and stroll through the narrow stone alleys. At the end of Menas, a white road leads into open meadows. That’s where your break awaits—with a view of the Brenta Dolomites and the Presanella. One word? Unforgettable.
3. PRÀ DI SAENT – Val di Rabbi
A challenge? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
From Colér, take the trail along the Rabbies stream. In about an hour, you’ll reach Malga Stablasolo and the Saent waterfalls. Still got energy (and hunger)? Climb further. One more hour, and one of the most spectacular views in the entire valley unfolds before you.
Spoiler: the sandwich hits different up here.
4. VAL MELEDRIO – Woods & Cool Air
Perfect for hot days.
Bike from MONROC through the villages of Almazzago and Costa Rotian, and take the “Sentiero della Lec” into the woods.
In about 40 minutes, you’ll be in the shady Meledrio Valley, where the stream refreshes the air and time slows down.
There’s even a new picnic area waiting for your wild pause.
